Planting Vegetables

Last week Room 3, Room 1 and Room 4 worked together to plant some vegetables.  Watch our Photostory to see what we did.

We planted four types of seeds: runner bean, radish, spring onion and mustard.  Look at the picture below.  Which seeds do you think might go with which seed packet?  You can click on the picture to make it bigger.

Keep checking out the blog to see how our plants are growing.

Loppy the rabbit visits Room 3

On Friday Robbie's rabbit Loppy visited Room 3. It was interesting to see a rabbit that was a different kind than Kase's rabbit. Loppy is a lop-eared rabbit so his ears hang down. He is also an albino, which is why he has pink eyes.

We could pat Loppy but we couldn't cuddle him because he would kick, scratch and bite. He sat quietly in the circle and twitched his nose.

Robbie's family got Loppy from a petting zoo. He eats all sorts of healthy things like pellets, carrots, cabbage, cauliflower, dandelions and watercress.

Whaingaroa 350 Flash Mob

Frankie was one of the dancers in the Whaingaroa 350 Flash Mob.  She got involved through her dance teacher Patti.  We asked Frankie what it was like to take part in the Flash Mob performance.  She told us that it was quite fun.  She was excited, and a tiny bit nervous about dancing in front of so many people.

We hope you enjoy watching the video.  See if you can spot Frankie and her friends from dance class.

Character Writing

In Room 3 we have been doing character writing.  Our writing needs to show our readers something about what our character is like.  We have been writing about people in our families and our pets.  Over the next couple of weeks we will be posting lots of our character writing for you to read.  We hope you enjoy our work, and please leave a comment!

Floppy the rabbit visits Room 3

Yesterday Kase brought his rabbit Floppy to school.

Floppy hopped around the classroom and didn't seem too scared by the children chasing him! We all got to cuddle Floppy and stroke his soft fur. Kase told us that Floppy is a friendly rabbit, but that he does bite sometimes. We interviewed Kase about Floppy:

What does he eat?
Carrots, lettuce, pellets and grass.

Where did you get him from?
The pet shop.

Where does he live?
In a rabbit cage outside.

Here are some more pictures of Floppy and his new friends in Room 3.
